Wizards’ Trevor Booker out with knee injury

The ailing Wizards will be without Trevor Booker for an extended period of time as he recovers from a knee problem.

The Washington Wizards could really use all hands on deck, but they'll have to wait a while for that dream, as Trevor Booker is now going to be out at least a few weeks with a knee injury according to the Washington Post.

Two weeks ago against the Indiana Pacers, Booker suffered what was initially thought to be a strain of his right knee. However, the healing process has been much slower than expected, leaving head coach Randy Wittman to say Booker will be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

Booker remains confident he’ll be back soon, telling the Washington Post:

“They said I shouldn’t play until don’t have any pain,” Booker said. “I’ll wait for that to clear up, but I’m feeling better each day.”

Booker feels that the slow start he was having is a direct result of trying to fight through his knee issue, which was flaring up throughout the year.

“It definitely was,” Booker said. “I couldn’t play like I wanted to. I’ll say I was probably playing at like 70 percent. So it hurt me bad.”

It's just another tough pill to swallow for a team trying to get on the right track. Washington only has one win on the campaign, a defeat of the Portland Trail Blazers last week. Of course, the Wizards are already without point guard John Wall, as he sits with a right knee ailment.
