An Important Update Regarding Jeremy Lin And Landry Fields’ Couch

WASHINGTON -- The Jeremy Lin Experience has exploded from provincial New York obsession to national NBA zeitgeist. So quickly, in fact, that we as a basketball culture seem to have forgotten the humble beginnings of his legend: Jeremy Lin, professional athlete hero who was sleeping on teammate Landry Fields' couch.

Let us not forget that couch.

“Jeremy said he’s going to buy your couch!” proclaimed a reporter from an Asian media outlet on Wednesday at the Verizon Center after the Knicks’ win over the Washington Wizards. “Are you going to sell it to him? That’s his lucky charm!”

“He can just have it,” Fields replied. “He can just have it. If he’s playing like that, he’s got it.”

“Has he rented an apartment yet?” continued the reported. “The coach told him to rent an apartment.”

“I don’t know what he’s doing,” Fields said. “You’ll have to ask him on that one.”

It’s safe to say Jeremy Lin is probably safe to rent or purchase some property in the New York metro area. And while he could probably afford an actual bed, but why risk it? Just get Landry’s lucky charm couch.

As for outfitting the rest of the new pad, I suggest asking Iman Shumpert, who told me he still needs to do some decorating on his new spot. I offered IKEA as a solution, but Iman politely told me he has better places to shop -- like, wherever one can purchase an official Men In Black chair. That seems like a good place.
