Kevin Garnett will not play for the Boston Celtics in their Sunday game at the Detroit Pistons due to personal reasons, according to the Associated Press. Boston head coach Doc Rivers told the AP that he has known since Thursday that Garnett would not be available for the Celtics' game, and that he is not sure if Garnett will return for Boston's trip to Dallas to play the Mavericks on Monday.

Garnett is averaging 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Celtics in 28 appearances this season.
He has also missed plenty of time in his five-year career with the team since coming to Boston in 2007. Thanks largely to injury, Garnett has played more than 70 games in a season just twice for the Celtics after doing so for all but one of his seasons as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
