Joel Przybilla Could Rejoin Blazers, According To Report

Joel Przybilla has been talked about by quite a few NBA contenders this season as they look for veteran big men to contribute to the frontline, but it seemed once he returned, it'd be with either the Chicago Bulls or Miami Heat. A familiar favorite may be emerging, though.

The Portland Trail Blazers have apparently made an offer to the Vanilla Gorilla, according to The Oregonian's Jason Quick. Przybilla's agent, Bill Duffy, was spotted at halftime of Tuesday night's game talking to team president Larry Miller regarding a deal getting done.

“I think Portland is always the sentimental favorite for obvious reasons,” Duffy said. “Joel has a home here and he had the best years of his career here. And at this particular time, it looks like he is needed, too.”

The Blazers have made an offer to the 32-year-old center for the remainder of the season. Now they are waiting. Hoping. Wondering.

“Joel knows how we feel about him,” said Chad Buchanan, the team’s acting general manager, and one of Przybilla’s close friends. “And we are always looking for ways to improve our team.”

Przybilla hasn’t played this season as he spends time back in Milwaukee with his family. He’s apparently got the itch to play basketball again, though -- and has plenty of suitors.
