Bulls Vs. Spurs: Can San Antonio Keep Momentum From Before All-Star Weekend?

The Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs are scheduled to meet on Wednesday night in primetime on ESPN.

The San Antonio Spurs will begin a seven-game home trip on Wednesday night, but it won't be easy for Tim Duncan and friends as they attempt to re-gain momentum following the NBA All-Star break. The Spurs host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night in a game scheduled to be televised on ESPN, as they look to keep their one-loss home record intact.

The Spurs entered the All-Star break losing just one of their past 10 games — a game they gave away as they rested their starters — but they'll likely need to play everyone available to win on Wednesday night. The one important player not expected to be available, unfortunately, is veteran guard Manu Ginobili.

The Bulls started off their second half of the season in style with a win over the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday night and, fortunately, it featured the starting lineup they expected to have for the majority of the season as Rip Hamilton once again joined Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer in the starting lineup after an extended absence due to injury. That group has started just six games together this season, however, making the Bulls 28-8 record even more impressive.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Spurs come out of the gates after their All-Star weekend break. Will they lose their momentum after the long layoff?
