Knicks Vs. Bulls Halftime Update: New York Leads Chicago, 50-48, In Testy First Half

The New York Knicks have a two point halftime lead over the Chicago Bulls, despite a quiet scoring performance from both Jeremy Lin and Carmelo Anthony. Mike D'Antoni and Tom Thibodeau have both received technical fouls in the first half, and the teams have combined for 21 personal fouls -- the Bulls have 14 of them, including three apiece for Carlos Boozer, Taj Gibson and Omer Asik -- and no one is particularly thrilled with the referee crew.

Derrick Rose is the game's leading scorer with 13 points, though he's done it inefficiently, shooting just 5-15 from the field. He has had a few of his typically mystifyingly athletic moments, including this impressive take against Lin:

Tyson Chandler, though he hasn't been as individually spectacular as Rose, has been the game's best player thus far. He has 11 points, but is shooting 4-5 and has five rebounds and two blocks. The Bulls are shooting just 39.6 percent as a team, and that they are even at that mark is largely due to Chandler. He has altered shots, hedged beautifully on screens and has been a genuine terror on both ends.

Lin has contributed nicely for the Knicks with five assists, but Rose has shut him down from a scoring standpoint. He did have this beauty of a pass, though:

Carmelo Anthony has been incredibly quiet, other than that nice finish. He’s been content — or seemingly content — to just hang out in the corner while Lin works a pick and roll with Chandler.
