NBA Trade Rumors: Carmelo Anthony ‘Sick’ Of Trade Talk, Denies Rift With Mike D’Antoni

Carmelo Anthony is reportedly so frustrated with his role with the Knicks that he's privately telling friends that he'd like to be traded -- or at the very least, have head coach Mike D'Antoni replaced.

Sure, why not? It’s been a little over a year since Anthony arrived in New York from Denver, so he’s overdue for a good trade rumor. Anthony doesn’t see it that way, though, taking to Twitter for the first time in weeks to complain:

He elaborated on his desire to stay in New York while talking with reporters on Wednesday, also denying that he has any problems with D’Antoni. From ESPN:

"I don't want to be traded," Anthony said after the Knicks' morning shootaround. "I don't know where that foolishness came from, so let's put a cap on that and make (sure) this the last time I hear about that."

[...] "No, no, no, no. Let's nip this in the bud right now. No," Anthony said, calling the report "nonsense."

"I don't know where that came from. I'm tired of hearing it. It came out this morning from I guess an anonymous source. I'm tired of anonymous sources," he said.

Rumors of a rift with D’Antoni won’t go away until the Knicks start winning again, but fortunately for Anthony, he won’t have to listen to the trade talk much longer: the NBA”s trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
