The Orlando Magic continue to discuss a Dwight Howard trade with the New Jersey Nets, reports ESPN's Marc Stein (via SB Nation's Orlando Pinstriped Post). Wednesday was a bit of a wild day in Dwight Howard Land, as the center reportedly first told the Magic that he'd waive his early termination option -- one he'd otherwise have been a lock to execute. That would have put Howard under contract through the 2012-13 season and delayed resolution on this whole mess for potentially another year.
Dwight Howard Trade Talks Between Magic, Nets Reportedly Back On
But later in the day, the story changed, whether because the media previously had it wrong or because Howard changed his mind. Regardless, Howard now will not waive his opt-out, meaning Orlando has a few hours to deal the All-Star before risking losing him for nothing in July.
The Nets have been on the Dwight beat longer than anyone, and have the advantage of being Howard's most favored nation on account of having Deron Williams on the roster.
