Denver Nuggets Nearing Long-Term Deal With Wilson Chandler, According To Report

The Denver Nuggets are closing in on a long-term deal with restricted free agent forward Wilson Chandler, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, citing sources close to the situation. The deal could be finished as soon as Friday.

Terms of the deal are unclear, but Stein revealed that one possibility being discussed is a five-year deal worth $30 million, with the Nuggets holding an option for the fifth year of the contract.

Chandler recently returned from China. He did not sign a restricted free agent offer sheet with the Nuggets ahead of the March 1 deadline. That left Chandler with a choice between sitting out the season, playing in China or signing a deal with the Nuggets. He apparently chose the latter.

Denver cleared up some space on the books on Thursday when they sent Nene and his five-year, $70 million deal to Washington in a three-team trade that landed the Nuggets former Wizards center JaVale McGee.
