Timberwolves Vs. Jazz: Paul Millsap Steals Win For Utah

It’s hard to recover from a play like that, but Millsap did just that, twice knocking the ball away from Love in the post for steals in overtime, and then he found redemption on a jump shot with 19 seconds left that gave the Jazz a four-point lead they wouldn’t lose this time.

Indeed, the Clippers led by 12 after the first quarter and built the lead up to 17 with just two and a half minutes left in the first half. Had they been able to take that lead into halftime, the Suns might very well have gotten the message that discretion is the better part of valor and begun to think about Detroit on Friday. Instead, the Clippers lost focus for the last couple of minutes and allowed the Suns to run off nine unanswered going into the half, which sent a very different message -- stick around, Suns, maybe we’ll let you steal this one in the end.

Griffin led the Clippers with 25 points on 12-18 shooting -- but he scored just three points and missed three free throws in the final quarter. Five other Clippers scored in double figures, but none had more than 14. Paul had 10 points and 11 assists, but was scoreless in the crucial final 11 minutes.

It’s a move that changes the trajectory of the franchise in Washington.

Nene is a 29-year-old big man with a history of solid production, who is in the first year of a five-year, $67 million contract he signed with Denver in the offseason, while McGee and Young are impending free agents that the Wizards would have been wise to avoid overpaying anyways. John Wall will finally get the chance to play with a savvy veteran who understands the finer point of the pick-and-roll offense and scores very efficiently, but on Thursday he had to rough it out for one more game along with everyone else.

Thunder Vs. Nuggets: Oklahoma City Rides Hot Shooting, Big Third Quarter To Double-Digit Win

Oklahoma City appeared to have the game in hand relatively early. Behind 10 points from Kevin Durant, eight points from Russell Westbrook and 57 percent shooting as a team, they built a four-point lead in the first quarter. They ran that lead up to double-digits in the second until Denver made a massive run of their own.

Down 44-32 in the middle of the second quarter, Denver unleashed a 19-3 run to come all the way back. Danilo Gallinari drilled two three-pointers during the run, and the rest of the Nuggets chipped away at the deficit by grabbing offensive rebounds, pushing out in transition and getting to the free throw line. Denver erased the difference in a matter of minutes and actually held a 51-50 lead going into halftime.
