Net Cords: Covering The NBA Trade Deadline Like A Dry Woolly Blanket

The 2012 NBA Trade Deadline has come and gone. The star quotient wasn't up to the level we saw last year when Carmelo Anthony and Deron Williams changed their uniforms, but there was plenty of action and SB Nation's network of NBA sites was there to cover and analyze the deals.

Here’s a sample:

-- The Portland Trail Blazers were the most active team on trade deadline day. They moved their starting center (Marcus Camby) and small forward (Gerald Wallace) and topped it off by firing their coach. All the action keep Blazersedge hopping, but Ben and Dave performed far better than the team they cover.

-- The Lakers dumped some salary and an aging hero but also managed to improve their team with the addition of Ramon Sessions and Jordan Hill who at least is tall. The moves gave Silver Screen and Roll hope.

-- The Rockets picked up Camby from Portland and Derek Fisher from the Lakers. The Dream Shake called the moves "safe" which in this case, is a good thing.

-- Denver and Washington pulled off the surprise move of the trade deadline with Javale McGee going to the Nuggets in exchange for Nene. The Wizards also move Nick Young to the Clippers and cleared enough salary for Denver to re-sign Wilson Chandler.

-- Denver Stiffs seems happy with the shedding of Nene’s big contract the Nuggets just gave him a few months ago.

-- Bullets Forever sees the moves as a big step forward for the Wizards.

-- Clippers Nation calls the acquisition of Young “terrific” but not a game-changer.

-- Indiana added the speedy and dangerous Leandro Barbosa for basically nothing. Indy Cornrows is understandably pleased.

-- On the flip side, the fine Canadian folks at Raptors HQ didn’t mind shipping out Barbosa. Only 26% of Toronto fans disapproved of the deal.

This is just a small sample of the great writing that goes on everyday at each of SB Nation’s 32 basketball sites.

’Net Cords’ features the great work being done by the SB Nation network of NBA team sites.
