The Memphis Grizzlies Tea Party Isn’t Totally What You’d Expect

Particularly since they signed Gilbert Arenas this week, the Grizzlies are the most delightfully insane team in the NBA, and frankly, the title is indisputable. When I first heard about a tea party, I envisioned some sort of surrealist, Johnny Depp’s Alice in Wonderland-type photoshoot with Tony Allen, Gilbert Arenas, and Zach Randolph. And maybe Johny Depp, just for fun.

↵That would’ve been legendary--and there’s still time--but it turns out the tea party was with patients at St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in Memphis, and the photos and write-up are fantastic over at Yahoo’s Ball Don’t Lie, so check it out, and add this to the long, long list of reasons we should all be in love with the Memphis Grizzlies.
