The Mavericks lost to the Spurs to drop into a virtual three-way tie for No. 4 with the inactive Clippers and Grizzlies. The Jazz beat the Nuggets to knot up with Denver and Houston in a tie for No. 7. If the season ended on Saturday -- it does not -- Denver would be on the outside looking in due to tiebreakers, and Memphis would be the No. 4 seed.

The intrigue continues on Saturday, as the Clippers and Grizzlies face off at 3 p.m. ET and the Mavericks and Rockets tangle in the evening. If the Rockets win, teams will move all over the danged place. This is going to happen every day for the next month. This is awesome.
