NBA Scores: Grizzlies Pick Up Win Over Wolves, Sixers Triumph

The Grizzlies kept Kevin Love in relative containment -- he didn’t score 50 -- and beat the Wolves.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are just about ready to fall out of the West playoff race a couple weeks after losing Ricky Rubio and with Nikola Pekovic joining him on the shelf. Minnesota fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 93-86 on Tuesday, dropping to 3.5 games out of the No. 8 seed with two extra teams ahead of them. It will be very tough sledding to make up that gap.

Memphis remains right in the thick of it all, settled in at No. 6, just a half-game behind the Clippers and Mavericks and with a full game's lead on Utah and Denver. Rudy Gay led the way with 21 points and Marreese Speights offered up 18 on 7-11 shooting.

Kevin Love, whose numbers of late have been unbelievable (as in not believable), had 28 and 11, which is almost normal.

In other action, the Philadelphia 76ers crushed the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 103-85. Spencer Hawes, a sight for sore eyes, had 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Jodie Meeks sprung for 31 in Andre Iguodala's absence.

In Portland, the Oklahoma City Thunder blasted the Trail Blazers 109-95. Russell Westbrook had 32 points and eight assists in the victory.
