In the past weeks and months, there has been much made about superstar Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard's relationship with his team and in particular with his head coach, Stan Van Gundy. There are many rumors and reports about conflicts between coach and player. On Thursday, a report came out indicating that Howard was refusing to play any longer under Van Gundy.

Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reported later on Wednesday that Van Gundy responded to the allegations in the report via a text message to the newspaper. He statement is as follows:

“I make nothing of them and I have no comment.”

Heading into the postseason, the discussion of a potential conflict between Howard and Van Gundy has only heated up. Howard is currently dealing with a back injury, but we can expect this to continue to be a storyline throughout the playoffs.
