Magic Vs. Jazz: Utah Hopes To Catch Orlando On A West Coast Trip

The Orlando Magic have already wrapped up their spot in the 2012 NBA Playoffs, but the Utah Jazz are still fighting for the final spot in the Western Conference.

Presswire

The Orlando Magic are in the middle of a three-game road trip as they head out west to take on the Utah Jazz. The results for the Magic without center Dwight Howard have been a mixed bag, but they're coming off a 102-98 loss to the Boston Celtics. The Magic have locked in their spot in the 2012 NBA Playoffs, but seeding is still in play for Orlando. This will be the team's first game after hearing the news that Dwight Howard will miss the rest of the NBA season, including the playoffs.

The Jazz are still trying to make the playoffs and looking to hand Orlando their second road loss in a row. The Jazz are tied with the Phoenix Suns for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs, so every game going forward is an important one. The Jazz are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and have just three games left in the season, including a matchup with the Suns.

Picking up a win against the Howard-less Magic could go a long way toward the Jazz’s playoff hopes.
