James Harden Injury: Thunder Wing Day-To-Day With Concussion Symptoms

Oklahoma City Thunder wing James Harden took a rather nasty elbow on Sunday from Metta World Peace, but it seems as though the swingman won't miss too much time following his team's double-overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harden has been listed as day-to-day by the team, though it's unlikely he'll play for the Thunder for the remainder of the regular season as they play the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday and the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. The team issued an update on his condition Monday, and he continued to undergo tests (Monday) in Oklahoma City that followed NBA protocol for the concussion.

Harden participated in a series of limited activities per NBA guidelines, but has additional steps that must be taken under the league-mandated concussion policy before he can make his return to the court.

The press release mentioned that Harden would be re-evaluated on Tuesday, meaning another update could come again soon. Considering the severity of concussions, however, it’d be wise to allow as much as time as possible for Harden to heal.
