NBA Playoff Schedule 2012: Postseason Tips Off On Saturday

Saturday is when the 2012 NBA playoffs begin, and with the quarterfinals’ three biggest series on deck for that day, it’ll feel like they’re in full swing.

The 2012 NBA playoffs will begin on Saturday, with the No. 1 seeded Chicago Bulls embarking on their second straight attempt to make good on having the NBA's best regular season record. But the Bulls won't be the only NBA title contenders in action on Saturday.

Chicago's Game 1 of its Eastern Conference Quarterfinals matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers will tip off at 1 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, but the Miami Heat will meet the New York Knicks in the next game on the schedule at 3:30 p.m., and the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks will tussle in the Western Conference's premier quarterfinals series in the day's nightcap at 9:30 p.m. Eastern.

Sunday's slate is a bit more sedate: the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz open the day, the Los Angeles Lakers get the prime afternoon slot for their clash with the Denver Nuggets, and the Memphis Grizzlies get their first crack at the upstart Los Angeles Clippers in the day's final game.
