VIDEO: Iman Shumpert Injury Ends Knicks Rookie’s Game 1

Iman Shumpert went down in pain in the third quarter of Game 1 between the New York Knicks and Miami Heat after twisting his knee.

The rookie guard writhed in pain as ABC went to commercial break; reporters in the arena tweeted that not only was Shumpert helped from the floor, but that a Knicks trainer held the back of the guard’s knee for support.

Shumpert is one of the Knicks' best defenders as a terrific ballhawk and dribble disrupter. Shumpert's injury came just two hours after Derrick Rose left the Bulls' win over the Sixers with a similar injury.

The Knicks were being blown out in the third when Shumpert went down. Mike Bibby and Baron Davis will soak up his minutes at the point, and J.R. Smith and Landry Fields will cover the team at shooting guard.
