Jordan Hill Releases Statement On Assault Charge, Says He Will ‘Cooperate’ With Authorities

Jordan Hill has learned at the worst possible time that he will have to make an appearance in court. One day after putting up 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers, the forward learned that he will face felony assault charges for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in February. The alleged assault took place in his apartment in Houston while he was still playing for the Houston Rockets.

Hill issued a statement through the Los Angeles Lakers official blog on Monday.

“I’m saddened to learn of the accusations that were filed against me today. At this time I cannot comment further other than to say that my attorneys are working to gather all the facts and evidence and I plan to cooperate completely with the authorities.”

Hill had previously tweeted shock and disbelief at the accusations, but has decided to take a slightly more mature and professional approach in his statement through the team, likely at the recommendation of his attorneys.
