The New Orleans Hornets are out of playoff contention. So rather than risk injury to one of their few bright spots, the team has decided to shut down Jarrett Jack for the remainder of the season. Jack is dealing with a stress fracture in his foot.

Jack had missed the last three games due to the injury before the Hornets announced that he’d been shut down for the remainder of the season by way of a press release on the team’s website. The stress fracture is located in his right foot.

Jack's last game of the season came on April 1 when he scored 13 points in 28 minutes against the Phoenix Suns in a 17-point loss. The 6'3 guard averaged 15.6 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 46 percent from the field this season in an attempt to fill the gaping hole at the point guard position that was created when Chris Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
