Bobby Knight Thinks The One-And-Done Rule Is A Disgrace

A real shocker, I know.

↵From the Indianapolis Star:

↵↵“I think it’s a disgrace,” Knight said of players who attend college for one year to fulfill the NBA’s requirement to be drafted. “If I was an NBA general manager, I would never want to take a kid 18, 19 years old, a year out of college. I’d wait until someone else worked two or three years with him to adjust him to the NBA and I’d trade a draft pick.”

↵↵Related: This is why Bobby Knight will never be an NBA GM, and why even college basketball thinks he’s a little senile these days. If you take him seriously, you’re missing the point. He’s basketball’s cranky old grandpa who will weigh in with every stereotypical answer you’d expect, doesn’t give a damn what you think, and sincerely believes sports were better when players stayed four years in 70s and early ‘80s (completely forgetting that half of the NBA was on cocaine back then). This is why I love Bobby Knight. Savor the rancor. Hopefully he rants against Facebook this summer.
