Nuggets Vs. Lakers, 2012 NBA Playoffs: L.A. Holds 55-48 Lead Over Denver At Halftime

The Los Angeles Lakers hold a 55-48 lead over the Denver Nuggets at halftime of Game 2 in Tuesday night's 2012 NBA Playoffs contest. From the 12-3 opening run to the buzzer at the end of the second quarter, the Lakers haven't trailed in this game, though they did face a few tied-game situations.

Los Angeles is off to a hot start shooting from the field, connecting on 53.3 percent of its shots. Kobe Bryant, predictably, is leading the way with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Andrew Bynum is equally impressive on Tuesday night with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting while pulling down six rebounds. He has just one block, far off pace from Game 1's 10 blocks.

Denver has struggled shooting the ball, hitting just 38.5 percent of its shots. Much of that can be attributed to making just two of 13 shots from beyond the arc. Not a single Nuggets player has scored over 10 points. Kenneth Faried, Ty Lawson and, off the bench, Al Harrington each have eight points.

The Nuggets have won the battle at the boards, 30-23, including 13 offensive rebounds, but they need to improve their shooting for that to mean something.
