Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen Reportedly Target Of Child Pornography Investigation
The Nuggets’ Chris “Birdman” Andersen is reportedly the target of a Denver investigation into online crimes. The task force handling the investigation specializes in Internet Crimes Against Children.
The details are still unclear, but it does not sound good. From NBC 9:
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children investigators seized property from Andersen’s home in Larkspur. Investigators have an ongoing investigation that began from a referral from a California law-enforcement agency. Deputies recovered property from the residence they believe is connected to the ongoing case.
Detectives have said that Andersen’s been under investigation since February 2012. A law enforcement official confirmed to Denver’s ABC affiliate that the investigation centers on child pornography.
Andersen did practice Thursday morning, but it's unclear whether he'll be on hand in Denver when the Lakers face the Nuggets for Game 6 Thursday night. But given the scope of the investigation and the task force involved, it sounds like the NBA Playoffs should be the least of our concerns right now.
