Derrick Rose Injury: Bulls Point Guard Has Surgery To Repair Torn ACL

Chicago Bulls point guard and 2011 MVP Derrick Rose underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL on Saturday, according to a report from Neil Hayes of the Chicago Sun-Times. The procedure took place at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. According to Hayes, the surgery went well:

A source said there were no complications or surprises during the surgery, which lasted about an hour. “His knee looked great,” the source said. “It’s what you’d expect from a 23-year-old physical specimen.”

Rose tore his ACL two weeks ago at the end of Game 1 of the Bulls' first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. The former MVP had an injury-plagued 2012 season, sitting out almost half the year (27 games). The No. 1 seed Bulls' title hopes took a huge hit as soon as he went down, and they were knocked out of the Playoffs in six games.
