J.R. Smith can be a free agent this offseason, but it sounds as though the New York Knicks guard is considering opting into a contract extension for next year.
J.R. Smith Arrested On Warrant In Miami
Smith was in Miami on Thursday night, and unfortunately for him, he was arrested and booked into jail for not having a valid driver’s license. The reason he was actually pulled over is currently unclear, but the New York Post reports that he was released shortly after arriving in jail.
This isn’t the first time Smith was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license in Florida, of course, considering The J.R. Smith Scooter Incident of 2011. That issue came up on May 30, meaning Thursday’s arrest was almost exactly one year later than his first arrest for this violation.
