Heat Vs. Celtics, NBA Playoffs 2012: Dwayne Wade Says ‘No Excuses’

Miami’s star calls any talk of the injuries affecting both team’s “excuses”.

Presswire

Neither the Boston Celtics nor the Miami Heat are particularly healthy headed into the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, which could be the last playoff matchup between the two rivals.

Miami is missing Chris Bosh, whose return is still unknown after tearing an abdominal muscle in the second round. Boston, meanwhile, is without second-year defensive ace Avery Bradley, who underwent shoulder surgery.

None of that counts the various nicks and bruises affecting both team's veteran stars, from Dwayne Wade's knee to Ray Allen's ankles.

Wade, however, did not want to hear about it when addressing the media on Sunday:

“Get out of here with that,” guard Wade said. “I don’t believe none of that. No feet hurting, no (one being) tired, nothing. This is the Boston Celtics. They’re all 100 percent to me. When they play the Miami Heat, it’s a different ball game. And vice versa. No storylines. No excuses.”

The Big 3 is not exactly the most beloved trio around the rest of the NBA, but then again, neither are Wade and LeBron. It was only fitting that they would meet one more time before the Celtics are likely torn down in the off-season.
