Clippers Vs. Grizzlies, NBA Playoffs 2012: Memphis Bounces Back To Even Series

Coming into Game 2, many wondered how the Memphis Grizzlies would respond after blowing a 24-point fourth-quarter lead in their 2012 NBA Playoffs opener against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. In the end, the Grizzlies responded by being themselves, grinding out a 105-98 win to knot the series at one.

The game was physical throughout, with the Clippers staying within striking distance through the third quarter. But then Memphis pulled away early in the fourth quarter, taking a 13-point lead on a Rudy Gay jumper with 3:52 remaining. The Clippers made one last push, but Memphis held it off to pick up the win.

Six Grizzlies players scored in double figures, led by 21 points from Gay. O.J. Mayo added 20 off the bench, and Mike Conley had 19. Chris Paul had a game-high 29 points to keep the Clippers in it, but it wasn't enough.
