Knicks Vs. Heat, NBA Playoffs 2012: Miami Holds Comfortable Double-Digit Lead

I mean, isn’t this all a formality?

The New York Knicks are on the road, losing and playing probably the most unremarkable basketball ever right now.

I mean, except for this Amar’e Stoudemire dunk, there’s not a whole heck of a lot happening, as the Miami Heat appear to be in near-complete control with a 55-44 halftime lead.

Despite being outshot by the Knicks percentage-wise -- New York’s hit 51.4 percent of its tries from the field, while Miami is shooting 46.5 percent -- the Heat have been able to hold a comfortable lead for most of the game’s first 24 minutes due primarily to offensive rebounding and adequate perimeter defense.

LeBron James leads the Heat with 13 points, while Dwayne Wade has chipped in with 12. Miami is also getting key contributions from members of its bench, as Mike Miller has nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range.

Carmelo Anthony leads all scorers with 15 points.

It’s not over, but right now it’s the Heat’s game to lose, and it’s going to take a heroic effort from one of New York’s stars in the second half to extend this series.
