The Philadelphia 76ers ended up going further in the NBA Playoffs than most expected this season, but that won't keep the team from making changes this offseason. In fact, there's a chance the changes could start at the top, as the team is expected to begin interviewing candidates for their head front office job.
Sixers Begin Process Of Replacing President Of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn
The Philadelphia 76ers have begun interviewing potential candidates to replace 71-year-old president of basketball operations Rod Thorn. Thorn has one year left on his contract before entering a five-year “consultant” role.

Current president of basketball operations Rod Thorn still has one year left on his contract (there’s a provision that would allow him to become a part-time consultant for five years after his contract expires), but the Philadelphia Daily News reports that the team is already looking for his replacement.
Potential candidates, according to league sources, include San Antonio vice president of operations Danny Ferry; Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey; Jeff Bower, who was a general manager for the New Orleans Hornets; Oklahoma City assistant GM Troy Weaver; Atlanta GM Rick Sund, whose contract expires at the end of June; and Milwaukee GM John Hammond, who has a year remaining on his deal. Hammond, who was denied permission to talk to Portland last month, was an assistant coach for Doug Collins with Detroit.
The Sixers' interview group consists of owner Josh Harris, CEO Adam Aron, Collins and Thorn, a source said.
Considering Thorn is on the panel of interviewers, there's a good chance this is more of a move to look toward the future rather than due to a poor performance by the 71 year old. The Daily News further mentions that Thorn underwent a similar situation with the New Jersey Nets prior to moving to the Sixers.
This process might not end anytime soon considering Thorn still has a year left on his contract, but it's likely a decision will be made before the team decides to make any wholesale changes -- particularly one involving Andre Iguodala.
