NBA Free Agency Rumors: Ray Allen Interested In Signing With Heat, Clippers

Ray Allen is reportedly interested in signing with either the Miami Heat or the Los Angeles Clippers if he does not re-sign with the Boston Celtics. The New York Knicks are also a potential landing spot.

Presswire

Ray Allen is interested in signing with either the Miami Heat or the Los Angeles Clippers if he does not re-sign with the Boston Celtics this offseason, according to ESPN New York. At 37 years old, playing for another contender may be especially attractive. Allen could serve as a nice outside complement to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, or LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

The New York Knicks have also been rumored as a potential landing spot for Allen. The Knicks would not be able to offer much more than the $1.4 million veterans minimum, however, and Allen may have reservations playing with a still-developing Jeremy Lin running the floor.

Allen's primary objective remains to return to the Celtics. He will have to see what teammates Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are planning to do next season. The prospect of teaming up once again with Rajon Rondo is enticing, however.
