After using their amnesty clause on Elton Brand earlier in the week, the 76ers added some frontcourt depth today agreeing to a two-year deal with Kwame Brown, according to reports.

Brown’s agent Mark Bartelstein confirmed the deal which is worth a reported $6 million and includes a player option in the second year.

By signing with the 76ers, Brown will join the seventh different team in his 11-year career. Originally the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, Brown spent last season with the Golden State Warriors. He only played in nine games for Golden State due to a pectoral tear that required surgery.

The move to Philadelphia will reunite Brown with 76ers head coach Doug Collins. Collins was the Washington Wizards coach when Brown played there from 2001-2003. Brown has played in 585 games throughout his career, averaging 6.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
