Steve Nash Trade: ESPN’s Marc Stein Confirms Move To Los Angeles

First reported by Phoenix sports talk show host John Gambadoro, the news of Steve Nash heading to the LosAngeles Lakers is being reported by ESPN’s Mark Stein.

Stein says the Suns have agreed to trade Nash to the Lakers for a “package of future picks”, while also confirming an intial report from KTAR stating that the Suns have consented send their now former point guard to Southern California so he can be close to his kids.

And because we were all pretty blindsided by this move while celebrating our nation’s independence, SportsIllustrated’s Chris Mannix added this nugget as the Nash-to-LA news spread Wednesday evening:

Details of the move have yet to be released, nor do we currently know what Nash's contract will look like, but it's clear that the Lakers are keen on not regressing as fading contenders in the Western Conference.
