Austin Rivers had a bone spur removed from his ankle three weeks ago, and the rookie guard is progressing nicely. He expects to be fully healed by the time training camp begins in October, according to The Times-Picayune.
Austin Rivers Recovering From Ankle Surgery
The rookie point guard is expected to be fully recovered for training camp.

“I’m doing great actually now, so I’ll be back very soon,” Rivers said Tuesday by telephone from New York where he participated in the NBA’s rookie transition program. “It’s got a lot better and I actually got even stronger than I think I was before I got hurt.”
Rivers is rehabbing in his hometown of Winter Park, Fla. He participated in just two of the Hornets’ five summer league games. Rivers averaged 10 points and 3.5 assists in those games.
He is expected to play mostly point guard in his rookie season.
