Josh Howard Still Looking For A Home, Visits Spurs

Free agent forward Josh Howard is set to visit the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.

Soobum Im-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Free agent forward Josh Howard is set to visit the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Howard spent his first seven seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, but was traded to the Washington Wizards in 2010 in a deal that netted the Mavericks Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson. Just weeks after the trade, Howard tore his ACL, costing himself the rest of the 2009-10 season. The ACL injury limited Howard to just 18 games in 2010-11.

Howard spent last year with the Utah Jazz, appearing in 43 games and starting 18. Howard averaged 8.7 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game with the Jazz.

The NBA’s preseason is set to tip off in early October, so Howard would be well served finding a new job sooner rather than later. It’s unknown how much interest the Spurs have in signing Howard, but he’ll certainly have an opportunity to impress on Monday.
