Ivan Johnson Re-Signs With Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have re-signed restricted free agent Ivan Johnson.

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Atlanta Hawks have announced the re-signing of restricted free agent power forward Ivan Johnson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Johnson was relatively unknown when he joined the Hawks training camp as a 28-year old rookie from Cal State San Bernardino, but Johnson beat out players like Keith Benson and Pape Sy for one of the final spots on the bench.

With inujries to the Hawks front court last season, Johnson took advantage of the opportunity given to him and emerged as one of the top reserve post options. The 6’8 big man played in 56 games last year for the Hawks, averaging 6.4 points and 4.0 rebounds a game in just over 16 minutes per.
