Former UCLA forward Reeves Nelson will get a try-out at training camp for the Los Angeles Lakers. The rookie signed a non-guaranteed contract that could be worth as much as $700,000, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Reeves Nelson To Audition For Lakers
Former UCLA standout Reeves Nelson will head to training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nelson showed promise as a freshman for the Bruins, but his numbers declined throughout his college career until he was dismissed from the team midway through his junior year. The 20-year-old was primarily an inside presence at UCLA, using his strength to rebound and score around the basket.
While it isn’t likely he will make the Lakers’ roster, Nelson was asked Tuesday where he may fit:
Of his possible role with the Lakers, Nelson said, "Obviously when you have Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard and Steve Nash and Pau Gasol and everything, you're not going to get a lot of shots up. I’m just going to do rebounding, hustle plays."
The 6’8 Nelson spent five weeks playing for BC Zalgiris in Lithuania earlier this year.
