Andray Blatche Weighing Offers From Nets, Heat, According To Report

Troubled former Wizards' big man Andray Blatche has found suitors, as the power forward is deciding between a pair of offers from Brooklyn and Miami, Michael Lee of the Washington Post reports.

Blatche’s career in Washington came to an awful close: his last season saw his scoring drop nearly in half from 16.8 points per game to 8.5, all while questioning Wizards’ management and having his season cut short due to poor conditioning, a combination that led the team to use the amnesty clause on the three years and $23 million remaining on his contract. That left Blatche without a team, and publicly proclaiming that he wouldn’t mind heading to the D-League to rehabilitate his once-promising career. But it looks like he won’t have to go that route, as not one, but two teams see potential backup roles for Blatche.

The Nets' deal is reported to be a non-guaranteed offer to come to training camp and earn one of two remaining roster spots. However, the Heat offer, reported by Lee, could be intriguing. Miami doesn't have many weaknesses, but its front line is one of them, as the NBA Champions often played without a center instead of Joel Anthony, whose uninspiring backups included Ronny Turiaf, Juwan Howard, Dexter Pittman, and Eddy Curry. Blatche isn't a true center, but the 6'11, eight-year vet could provide an interesting look for Miami down low.
