The Los Angeles Lakers have assembled their new assistant coaching staff. Eddie Jordan, Bernie Bickerstaff and Steve Clifford are the new assistants for L.A., replacing Quin Snyder, Ettore Messina and John Kuester. Dave McMenamin has a little on each of these new hires.
Lakers Hire Eddie Jordan, Steve Clifford, Bernie Bickerstaff As Assistant Coaches
The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Eddie Jordan, Steve Clifford and Bernie Bickerstaff as assistant coaches.

All of the assistants will bring something to the table. Jordan is considered a top offensive mind and has plenty of experience with the Princeton offense the Lakers might try to implement in the coming season. Jordan has bounced around the league, coaching both the Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers in his most recent stints. Bickerstaff is more of an older presence to help guide the locker room, and is very close with current Lakers head coach Mike Brown. Finally, Clifford provides Dwight Howard with a familiar face in the locker room, as he served on the Magic coaching staff as an assistant last season.
Snyder and Messina had already left open two vacancies for new Lakers assistants when they departed for CSKA Moscow this offseason, with Messina becoming the head coach and Snyder an assistant on his staff. McMenamin reports that Kuester will be getting reassigned to advanced NBA scouting on the East Coast.
