With a nasty flu bug making its way around the country recently, the Pacers' leading scorer appears to have fallen victim. He still hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, but the Pacers will be without their ill-struck forward against Charlotte.
McGuire, 27, signed a 10-day contract with the Pacers earlier this week after being waived by the New Orleans Hornets. Making his debut with the team against the Bobcats, McGuire has averaged 15.6 minutes per game over 24 contests this season, putting up per-game averages of 2.1 points and 3.2 rebounds.
Before getting the flu, George had been playing quite well for Indiana this week. In a pair of games against the Miami Heat and New York Knicks, respectively, George led Indiana to impressive victories while averaging 27 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three assists per game.
