Former Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles, who has always favored a disciplined, slow-paced, defensive approach, seemed to be a poor fit with this roster even before he and the Bucks parted ways last week. And according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Skiles himself wanted out long before the team decided to let him go.

Former Bucks coach Scott Skiles reportedly sold his house and was eyeing the Orlando Magic job, but it didn’t materialize.

Washburn reports that Skiles put his home up for sale in the offseason and wanted to pursue the then-vacant Orlando Magic head coaching position.
“Skiles never liked this roster and had lost his zest to coach, so his exit was good for both sides,” Washburn writes.
Washburn also noted that although Skiles wants to coach again, he has “burned bridges in many locations,” which might make it difficult to find a team willing to give him another opportunity.
David Aldridge of NBA.com reported just before Skiles and the Bucks parted ways that Skiles had no interest in signing a contract extension with Milwaukee, and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports cited a source who said that Skiles "hated his team." Jacob McCormick of Bucks blog BrewHoop noted that new coach Jim Boylan already brings a noticeable improvement in communication.
Skiles’ agent Keith Glass denied that things were that dramatic.
“There was no blowup. There was no animosity going on. I think everybody made the right decision for their own respective sides,” Glass told the Associated Press.
Skiles was 162-182 in his four-plus seasons in Milwaukee.
