Deron Williams doesn’t think he deserves to be an All-Star
The Nets’ floor general cited fatigue as being among the reasons for his struggles this season.

“I just think there’s people playing better than me,” he told ESPN New York. The Illinois product went on to mention that his numbers were down due to a long stretch without taking time away from the game to rest. He’s been banged up throughout the season, and his confidence has also suffered.
In 2012-13, Williams is averaging 16.8 points, 7.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting only 42.9 percent from the field.
He’s found new life under interim head coach P.J. Carlesimo, however, and has thrived since changing schemes from that of the ousted Avery Johsnson. Brooklyn is riding a six-game winning streak thanks in part to his resurgence. Since the coaching change took place, the 28-year-old is averaging 19.5 points, 8.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds and shot 46.8 percent from the field, including 48.3 percent from the three-point line.
“I consider Deron an All-Star,” said Carlesimo. “I think he’s playing very well.”
