Rasheed Wallace has yet to begin running after being taken out of action following a Dec.15 foot injury labeled a stress reaction. Head coach Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks told ESPN New York that he is hopeful Wallace returns soon, but sources said that there is internal discussions about finding a replacement for Wallace.
Rasheed Wallace injury: Knicks big man could be out for season, according to report
The New York Knicks are waiting to determine if forward Rasheed Wallace can return for a foot injury.

“He’ll be back -- but when, I don’t know,” Woodson told ESPN New York. “We’re gradually trying to get him back where he can run again so he can get back in a uniform. But when, we don’t know when yet.”
According to the report, some decision-makers within the Knicks organization would like to move forward with finding a free agent, perhaps 35-year-old Kenyon Martin.
The injury, which was first called a “sore foot,” could keep Wallace out for the rest of the season, according to the sources. Asked on Wednesday by ESPN New York about his potential return, Wallace said it wasn’t his decision.
Wallace averaged 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds with the Knicks this year, his first season of action after being pulled out of a two-year retirement.
