Andrew Bynum injury: Sixers’ center progressing
Philadelphia 76ers’ center Andrew Bynum added movement to his shooting drills on Thursday and is inching closer to a return to the court.

Bynum has yet to suit up for the Sixers since being acquired in an offseason trade. He suffered a setback earlier this season but now looks to be once again on the road to recovery. Sixers’ head coach Doug Collins hasn’t lost faith in Bynum just yet:
“All you want is a chance, you want hope,” Collins said of what he expressed to Bynum. “You are starting to get hope again. I am sure there are nights where you lie awake in bed and that hope has turned into despair saying, ‘What is happening with my career? Am I going to be able to do it again? Are my legs going to get healthy? That $100 million I was looking at in the bank, where is this all now?’
Bynum is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and is hoping to get on the court to prove his value on the open market this offseason. When healthy, Bynum is one of the best pure centers in the league and will likely be the No. 2 center on many team’s free agent shopping lists behind Dwight Howard.
Bynum had a career-year last season averaging a double-double at 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. In his career he is averaging 11.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.
