Grizzlies vs. Bulls final: Chicago falls in third straight overtime game

The Chicago Bulls treated fans to free basketball for their third game in a row, but this time the outcome wasn't the same as the first two as they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 85-82 at the United Center Saturday night.

The Bulls started off the game looking no worse for the wear, taking a 22-18 first quarter lead. However, the wheels fell off in the second half when the Grizzlies held Chicago to just 12 points. The Grizzlies had a double digit lead for almost the entire second half until the Bulls made a run in the final six minutes to tie the game. Nate Robinson missed a last second three, sending the game in to overtime.

The Grizzlies started overtime on a 7-2 run, then Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph missed two free throws each, followed by a Rudy Gay turnover and a five second inbounds violation, which led to a Nate Robinson lay-up to pull the Bulls within one. The Bulls then let Jerryd Bayless leak out on the inbounds to put the Grizzlies up three. Gay redeemed himself by blocking Robinson's three-point attempt. A Carlos Boozer last-second three fell short, giving the Bulls their first overtime loss of the week.

Taj Gibson subbed in for Joakim Noah with just under six minutes left in the third quarter. Noah did not return, even after Gibson fouled out in overtime. ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell reported that Noah was not injured and he didn't re-enter the game because of a "coach's decision."
