The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without center Nikola Pekovic and guard Alexey Shved for Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced. Both players are dealing with injuries that have sidelined them for the past few days.

The T-Wolves will be without a pair of key players as the Brooklyn Nets visit Target Center on Wednesday night.

The team's starting center, Pekovic has been out since suffering a right quad contusion in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers last week. His initial timetable to return was set at 7-10 days, so the big man could potentially be back by the end of the week.
Shved returned to practice on Tuesday, but the team is still playing it safe by holding him out of Wednesday’s game. Injured in the same game as Pekovic, Shved is still recovering from the sprained left ankle that’s kept him out in recent days.
Greg Stiemsma has been starting at center in place of Pekovic, while Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea have seen extra time in the backcourt. This season, Pekovic has per games averages of 16 points and 8.9 rebounds. Shved is averaging 10.7 points and 4.6 assists per contest.
