Lakers vs. Grizzlies final score: Grizzlies stomp wounded Lakers, 106-93

Memphis treated Los Angeles like a wounded animal as the Lakers are now a season-worst eight games below .500 in the midst of a devastating season.

The Memphis Grizzlies took advantage of the dismal state of the Los Angeles Lakers, crushing them on both ends of the floor, 106-93, on Wednesday night at FedEx Forum.

Darrell Arthur was the unlikely leader for Memphis (27-14), who had a balanced scoring attack with five players scoring in double figures. Arthur finished with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting and added nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot. The frontcourt tandem of Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph added 12 apiece.

The Lakers (17-25) were bad on both ends of the floor. giving up 60 points in the paint, 13 fast break points and allowing Memphis to shoot 49.0 percent from the field.

Kobe Bryant led the way for Los Angeles, scoring 29 points on 11-of-23 shooting, adding three assists and three rebounds. Metta World Peace added 15 points of his own.

The bad news for the Lakers got worse as they lost center Dwight Howard to a shoulder injury in the second quarter. He missed the remainder of the game, scoring just two points on 0-4 from the field. At this point, it is unknown whether or not he'll be ready for the team's next game vs. the Jazz on Friday night.

Memphis will host the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
