Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will have his injured right knee re-evaluated by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, according to his agent, Bill Duffy.

According to his agent, the All-Star point guard is going to visit the best in the business before determining a definitive course of action.

Duffy called Andrews the No. 1 surgeon, and mentioned that if he were not the one to be consulted, that there would be other prominent doctors considered for another opinion.
Andrews, based in Birmingham, Ala. operated on Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings when the All-Pro running back tore his ACL and MCL last season. Rondo is reportedly also going to speak to him in hopes of getting advice on how to handle such a major setback.
In 38 games as a starter in 2012-13, Rondo averaged a career-best-tying 13.7 points and a league leading 11.1 assists per game. The Celtics are going to have to pick themselves up after reeling of late as they currently sit in eighth place in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. They are 4-6 in their last 10 games and will look for key contributions from incumbent starter Avery Bradley in Rondo's absence.
