Dallas Mavericks reserve center Chris Kaman will be out of the lineup indefinitely after suffering a concussion during Tuesday's practice at the Rose Garden.

Kaman sustained the injury when he collided with a teammate during the practice session and his head hit the floor. He's coming off a season-low 11 minutes played in Sunday's 110-95 win over the Phoenix Suns.

Head coach Rick Carlisle spoke about the toll Kaman's absence will take on the team moving forward.

“It helps to have depth for sure,” Carlisle said. “We need all those guys, but this is a hit for us. Chris has played very well for us this year, played really well against these guys last time. We’ll miss him, and hopefully he’ll be back soon.”

As is customary with concussion symptoms, the Mavs will have to wait until they completely subside before Kaman is allowed to return to action. There is no timetable for his return.

Kaman is averaging 12.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season.
