New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton believes that he will be able to return to the court by late January, according to a report from Al Iannazzone of Newsday. Felton broke his right pinkie on Dec. 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Knicks’ Raymond Felton hopes to return by late January
Knicks point guard Raymond Felton hopes to return from his fractured right pinkie shortly after the team returns from London in late January.

Felton was able to avoid surgery on the finger, which would have put him out eight to 12 weeks. With no surgery, the timetable is four to six weeks, and Felton is gunning for closer to four weeks. The point guard is hoping that the bone will heal by the time the Knicks leave for London on Jan. 14, and that he will be able to return to action shortly after the team returns:
“Probably not Brooklyn [Jan. 21] from what me and Doc talked about,” Felton said. “So either that Boston or maybe that Philly game.”
New York faces Boston on Jan. 24 and Philadelphia on Jan. 26.
The Knicks have gone 3-2 since Felton went down with the injury, with head coach Mike Woodson going to a bigger starting lineup in the point guard’s absence. On the year, Felton is averaging 15.8 points, 6.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 35.3 percent from three-point land.
